This week, we are praying for those who miss the lives they had before chronic illness changed them.
God sees the canceled plans, lost independence, changed relationships, and moments they could not share. He also sees the quiet grief of missing who they used to be.
Let us pray for comfort, renewed hope, and the reassurance that their lives still hold meaning and purpose.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
—Psalm 34:18, NASB 2020
Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father,
You tell us that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Please draw near to everyone grieving what chronic illness has changed.
You see the losses others may not recognize—the canceled plans, lost independence, changed relationships, and meaningful moments missed.
Your Word says that You heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. Bring comfort to the places that still ache. Remind those who are grieving that sadness does not make them ungrateful, and questions do not push them away from You.
You invite the weary and burdened to come to You for rest. Hold close those who are exhausted, discouraged, or too tired to pray for themselves.
You promise to strengthen, help, and uphold Your people. Give them enough strength for the step directly in front of them.
Surround them with compassionate people. Help them discover new ways to experience purpose, connection, joy, and belonging.
Thank You for remaining near. Remind each person that they are still seen, still loved, still needed, and never alone.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
